For the last 12 months I have been working from my Sussex home creating textiles designs for the trade and taking commissions. Wallpapers, tiles, lampshades, I’ve experimented with all sorts of surfaces and designs. I like to up-cycle found objects, to paint on, stitch on or hand print screens, wallpapers and other home furnishings, I’m just loving the freedom to design and to see those designs translated into many different forms is so exciting.
I like to create bespoke products for clients, as well as producing designs for leading furnishing brands, and boutique hotels.
I studied textiles for fashion a million years ago attending Maidstone College of Art, followed by Middlesex Poly and tinkered with millinery for a short time following a placement with celebrity hatter Stephen Jones. However I ended up spending the following 20 odd years as a Marketing Manager & Director at several leading magazine publishers, first in book publishing then later B2B magazines including organising industry events and awards.
In 2002 my husband and I set up our publishing business Grove House Publishing [2002-2016]. I still organise the annual Cream Awards for the Dairy Industry today, and am publisher and editor of Countrystore Magazine, however I am finally getting back to textile design . . .
